“What are you doing here?”Nathan said getting out of the car when he finally spotted me.
I made a move to walk to Georgie’s car of course he blocked my path.
“Nathan please, just move.” I said.
“You’re at my house, why?” He asked.
“Nathan just leave it.” Georgie interrupted.
“No I want to talk to Paris.” He said, so Leslie ushered Georgie inside, they didn’t do anything about the bitch in the Nathan’s front seat.
“Paris, you shouldn’t be here.” Nathan said.
“I know, I’m sorry, I’m leaving.”
“You can’t just fuck me over and then hang out with my family.”
“Fuck you over?” I repeated.
“Yeah.” He said, so I deliberately looked towards Becky in his front seat.
“Don’t give me that, I’m single now.” He said with venom in his voice.
“I know, I just think that maybe you forgot you were in a relationship when you actually were.”
“No, you were there reminding me every step of the way...” He said.
“Right it’s all my fault...” I said with a bit of bite to my voice.
“You left me, I honestly don’t know why your here.”
“Me either...just let me go, please.” I pleaded.
He must have saw the desperation on my face because suddenly he looked as sad as I felt.
“I’m sorry; I’m being an ass...I just don’t get why we couldn’t work our shit out.” He said his voice lowering towards the end of the sentence and he kicked some imaginary dirt on the ground.
“You seem to be moving on just fine.” I said once again looking pointedly at Becky.
He looked back at her and then towards me...
“You made your choice Nathan.” I said waving for Georgie to come out, she was watching the scene ‘stealthily’ behind the curtain in Lesley’s living room.
I turned around and started walking towards Georgie’s car, Nathans grabbed my wrist, by the time I turned to face him, he’d already rethought his decision and was signalling for Becky to come inside.

Pulling A Funk
“GET OUT OF BED!” Georgie screamed at me from downstairs.
“Nooooooooo.” I replied, it was day 3 in bed and Georgie was less than impressed.
“PARIS, NOW!” she yelled back.
I waddled downstairs about 10 minutes and multiple screaming matches later.
“You have to get up!” She said as I was walking down the stairs.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” I said, she took one look at me and a smile cracked her tough exterior, I was wearing my dressing gown over my flannelette pyjamas and my ugg boots, I looked a treat.
“You are such a cliché at the moment.” She laughed.
I just gave her a sarcastic smile, and then Danny walked downstairs, obviously doing the walk of shame.
“Ha ha I’m the cliché? Have a nice sleep Danny?” I asked, he looked towards Georgie sheepishly.
“Have you talked to Nathan yet?” He asked trying to avoid his own embarrassment.
“No, he hasn’t tried to call me either.” I justified.
“I would talk to him if I were you.”
“Again, he hasn’t tried either; barely acknowledge I was going in the first place.”
“I’m just going to say, he isn’t taking it to well, and maybe you should bite the bullet.” Danny suggested.
“People who’ve broken up shouldn’t talk anyway, thems the rules.” I said.
Georgie and Danny shared a look, I knew what it meant, they didn’t think this was real, it is, trust me.
“So what’s going on here?” I said winking trying to get the attention off me.
There were some awkward coughs and red faces before the subject was changed, soon after Danny left and Georgie and I had a chat.
“So how you doing?” She asked.
“I’m fine, did Danny say anything?”
“Nothing exciting.” She said unconvincingly.
“Really?” I asked.
“Yep.” She answered and went into the kitchen to finish washing her dishes.
By the way she was avoiding my eye I knew she was lying...Oh well.

Playing The Blame Game
“Hey where have you been?” Georgie asked as I walked through the door.
“Nathans.” I answered beginning my walk up the stairs.
She nodded, “Paris I know it’s hard, but it’s just going to take some time Nathan will be himself again soon.”
I couldn’t hold it together the tears stained my face in seconds and soon
I was sitting on the bottom step barely breathing, “I broke up with him
Georgie.”
Her mouth dropped as she walked over and sat next to me, “What? Paris you can’t, he needs you.”
“I’ve needed him too, it’s to exhausting.” I said as a pathetic excuse.
“Paris it’s just a bad patch, he will get better.” Georgie said as she justified her brother’s behaviour.
“Georgie, I can’t anymore, I love him so much but I’ve been giving excuses for our fights and behaviours and I realise there’s no point us both being miserable.”
“This is so sudden; did you even talk about it?”
“Didn’t have to, we both knew, he didn’t say anything.”
“He was probably shocked; it came pretty out of left field.”
“I’m sorry Georgie, I mean this in the nicest possible way, but you haven’t been around him lately, since his injury his changed...”
“Can you blame him?”
“No I can’t.” I said resuming my trek up the stairs.
Great so now I was going through a break up and my roommate and friend clearly wasn’t happy because I just dumped her brother, this couldn’t get any worse.
“Nathans.” I answered beginning my walk up the stairs.

The Conclusion
I went straight over to Nathans after work, I had this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, I had made an ultimatum with myself, if I wasn’t satisfied after a chat then I would end it, I wasn’t sure if I would have the guts to actually go through with it but it was certainly my plan.
I knocked on his front door, waiting for him to answer, I had a speech prepared but I wasn’t sure how much I’d get through but at least I had a plan.
“Hey.” Nathan said as he opened the door.
“Hi.” I smiled back at him.
“What are you doing here?” He asked.
“...um seeing my boyfriend.” I replied.
“Don’t get snappy it was just a question.”
He began walking towards the lounge room, he was in the middle of a movie.
“Nate, can we talk real quick?” I asked.
“Hmm?” He said not looking up from the TV.
“You and Becky seemed awfully cosy the other day.” I said.
He flicked off the TV but still didn’t look at me, “She’s helped me a lot of the last few weeks.”
“Yes, she has. But so have I, and you’ve barely looked at me since the injury, and we definitely aren’t sitting on your bed laughing over youtube videos together.” I said quietly.
He sighed and still wouldn’t meet my eye, “I don’t know what to say, I like Becky and yes you’ve helped me to, I never said you hadn’t, at the moment I’m finding it easier to talk to her.”
“Why?” I asked feeling a flush spread to my face, I was finding it hard to breathe.
“I don’t know.”
“Ok, fine, talk to Becky, I don’t mind, but please don’t let me find you chilling in bed with her like it’s no big deal.” I said with a bit of bite to my voice.
“Grow up Paris, we’re all adults, you should take comfort in the fact that I haven’t slept with anyone since we started going out.”
“’I should take comfort in the fact that you haven’t slept with anyone’, what the hell does that mean?” I nearly shouted.
“It means I’ve been completely faithful, but a lot of people wouldn’t have been in my position.”
“Why, why would you say that?” I asked confused.
He just shook his head.
“Nathan, why are you being a prick? I get it, you broke your knee, it sucks, but you’re going to be playing again soon and everything will be fine.”
“No you don’t get it.” He shouted.
“Fine EXPLAIN IT TO ME.” I yelled back.
“I can’t.” He said so angrily I physically recoiled.
“Ok, well I’m sorry but I can’t be overlooked and forgotten about anymore.”
He half laughed, “So what some more drama Paris, yell, scream maybe?”
“No...I’m done.” I answered.
He shook his head, “Done what? This ridiculous conversation?” He asked turning his attention back to the TV.
“No, us. I’m done; it’s too much for me. Where both not happy and we shouldn’t pretend to be anymore.”
He was quiet for a long time, and for a brief minute he looked ruffled like he was about to beg for forgiveness, he looked like the act he’d been putting on since his injury was fading away, and just as quickly as I saw my Nathan he was gone again.
”Let yourself out.”
That sentence was drawn out with finality that I needed, perhaps we were just the couples that were meant to fall in love but not be together, they world wasn’t ready for Nathan and Paris, or perhaps I wasn’t.

Honestly?
“Hey pretty lady.” Zoe greeted me at the elevator; we were going to lunch together.
“Hey yourself.” I said kissing her on the cheek.
“How’s organising going for Paris?” She asked.
“Really well, Minnie’s practically got everything sorted, I’m staying with the beauty editor for their magazines for a couple of weeks while my accommodation is being organised.”
“Ooooo well remember I’m your favourite beauty editor of them all.” Zoe teased as we were getting on the elevator.
I laughed, “Of course.”
“I’m sad that you’re leaving me though.” Zoe said linking her arm in mine while we took to the street to find somewhere nice to eat.
“Me to, but I’m looking forward to a break.” I said.
“Hmm what from?” She asked.
“Real life I guess.” Zoe looked at me shocked before I began again, “God that sounded grim didn’t it?” I laughed lightly.
“What’s wrong with your life at the moment?” She asked.
“Nathan and I are we,..we aren’t right.” I said.
“Paris can I say something, without you getting offended?” She asked.
“Yes of course you can.” I said as we continued to walk along the street towards our favourite cafe, which we silently decided to go to.
“You spend a lot of time justifying your relationship, wondering what’s going on or being miserable.” She stopped talking as we sat down outside,
I wasn’t sure how to take it. Nathan and I have been happy, happier that I’ve in a long time, but on the flip side of that we’ve had lots of fights.
“I’m sorry if that sounded harsh, I didn’t mean it to, I just wanted to give an outsiders view.”
“No it’s ok, I’m a little lost, I feel like if I leave him now then I’m leaving when things got hard.”I said.
“I’m not telling you to break up with Nathan, but his injury isn’t life threatening and you told me he was getting his results back tomorrow, and he will mostly likely be playing again soon, you supported him through his hard time and now it’s your turn, you’re travelling soon and it’ll be a good chance to have some space.”
Tears sprung to my eyes, her honestly I think it’s because she said everything I was thinking, I never knew Zoe to be so honest, I needed to talk to Nathan, I needed this sorted out.

Just Breathe
“What are you doing here Georgie?” I asked as we were walking down the streets, I was extremely relived that she arrived when she did.
“Nathan called me, asked me to check on you and you weren’t answering your phone, so I freaked out and ran over here.”She explained.
“I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have worried, I would have been fine.”
“Oh yeah you looked like you were in complete control, dude she was about to pull out your hair out.” She said still gripping my arm tight.
“I never thought she’d do something like that.” I said, still shocked.
“I know, Audrey didn’t seem like the violent type.” She said.
"I didn’t think she was.” I said. I guess it was a perfect ending to an imperfect friendship, Audrey finally showed her true colours and I felt like I could finally breathe again.
_________________________________________________________________
“So what she poured water on you, pulled your hair, said I cheated on you and bagged out your family, is that it?” Nathan asked pacing up and down his lounge room while Georgie and I watched from the couch; it was safe to say he was a little pissed off.
“That about covers it.” I said trying to get him to sit down, while Georgie went to the kitchen, giving us some alone time.
“I didn’t have sex with her, I mean I did obviously, but not since I met you.” He said.
“Ok.” I said, I wasn’t going to deny that I was hoping he would give me an answer without me having to ask, I trust Nathan, he finally say next to me and I buried my head into his chest, breathing him in.
“I talked to my manager about the website, his trying really hard to get the article off, but it’s already out there, not much that can be done.” He said.
“It sucks but honestly as you said it’s out there now, I’ve been fielding calls from my family all day, at least my mum hasn’t seen it, oh well I’m a home wrecking, slut, whose boyfriend doesn’t really like her...Things could be worse I suppose.” I said snuggling into Nathan.
“Well I love you and so do my friends, and you definitely weren’t a home wrecker, I feel like we constantly have to explain and prove our relationship to other people, let’s just let it be.”Nathan said, quoting the Beatles who I recently found out were one of his favourite bands.
“You are so cute, I love you.” I said smiling, we had finally found some harmony in our crazy lives, I wonder how long it will last?

outRAGEous
I knocked furiously on the door in front of me, my rage was bubbling and I needed to see what Audrey had to say for herself, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to gain but I couldn’t let my life be taken over by vindictive and jealous person, I thought that 4 years of being inseparable and telling each other our deepest darkest secrets would mean at least a little respect after our friendship dissolved.
“Oh I should have been expecting you.” Audrey said as she opened the door looking less then pleased to see me. “Before you start yelling at me, can you please get the rest of crap out of your room before next weekend, I offered it to my roommate but she wouldn’t take your old junk.”
“Mature Audrey.” I said sarcastically.
“Hmm well come on then? Give it to me, what sob story are you going to lay on me?” She said walking through the entrance straight to the lounge room and sitting on the couch facing me.
“So what was with the story?” I asked.
“What? I didn’t write it.” She said, I gave her my ‘best bitch please’ look and she shook her head at me, “You don’t have to believe me Paris, but they’ve been building a story on you for a while, lots of unnamed sources, I stopped it from going to press and then I just decided I didn’t
care anymore.” She said harshly.
“Hmm say I do believe your pathetically weak story; you were mentioned in the article.” I said.
“Well I figured if you were going down, it wouldn’t hurt to get my name mentioned in the article.” She laughed shrilly.
“It’s not just me you’ve messed with here Audrey, its Nathan and his team, A LOT of people and you have no right to mess with their lives.” I said.
“Honestly Paris, I don’t care. I no longer associate myself with people who create drama.” She said.
“Seriously Audrey I cause drama, do you not realise the only reason I’m here is because of the shit your saying about me?” I said.
“I don’t know what you want me to say, I’ve heard some less then flattering stories about you in the last couple of weeks and I’m done.” She said.
“What kinds of things have you heard Audrey.” I said resisting the urge to reach over and punch her in the face.
“Well I’ve been seeing Katie around; she is getting a job at Dish the Dirt, her little TV gig didn’t work out, boo...any way dish the dirt is working on setting a tmz like TV program but with a host, and Katie’s in.” She said looking bored and glancing down at her nails.
“What’s your point Audrey?” I sighed angrily.
“Well...my and her have been talking, apparently her and Nathan had sex quite a few times after you guys went on your first date, said it was the best she’s ever have apparently he kept saying, ‘I really shouldn’t be doing this,’ it was all forbidden and dirty...apparently.” She said keeping her voice level and looking me straight in the eye.
“You expect me to believe that she just told you all of this? Honestly Audrey you’re acting like a jealous bitch.” I said, what she said hurt me and I wasn’t sure what to think, but I needed to defend Nathan and talk to him later.
“Jealous? Of you? Oh sweetie.” She said patronisingly.
“Come on, finally I have the boyfriend, the amazing job, with HEAPS of opportunities coming my way, your used to sitting on a pedestal and having EVERYTHING handed to you, well Audrey it’s not longer school, it’s the real world and you have to work for what you want, your daddy can’t bail you out!” I yelled, low blow I know.
She was shocked for a solid 10 seconds before she spoke.
“How dare you? My dad hasn’t bailed me out in a long time, and Paris at least I have family to reply on, where’s yours at the moment? Some random country in Europe? While your sister is all obsessed with her new baby?” She screamed.
“My mum has always been there, she is having a life at the moment Audrey and of course my sister is obsessed with her new baby, what a ridiculous argument.” I said facing the kitchen to catch my breath.
And as suddenly I turned around I regretted it, I felt a large cup of water being thrown over my head, I spun around quickly to see her holding an empty glass, the bitch soaked my hair, I would have started laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation but then she walked over to me and pulled my hair just as I was about to shove her back I heard the front door opening, it was Georgie, well that was random.
“What the hell you two?” She yelled.
We both backed away from each other, I grabbed my purse and headed for the front door Georgie looking shocked but following me out anyway.
“Oh I should have been expecting you.” Audrey said as she opened the door looking less then pleased to see me. “Before you start yelling at me, can you please get the rest of crap out of your room before next weekend, I offered it to my roommate but she wouldn’t take your old junk.”

Angry By Extension
*Hey everyone, don't forget to vote on the new poll :)
I called Nathan on the way to Audrey’s I was absolutely fuming and needed him to see it.
“Hello beautiful,” Nathan answered sweetly.
“Log on to dish the dirt.” I said instead of hello.
“Babe you know I don’t care about celebrity goss and all that.” He said, but I heard walk over to his computer click around about a minute later, while I was furiously pushing the Sunday commuters on the train Nathan let out a loud breath, signifying he had now seen the article that was trashing his girlfriend.
“What the hell is this?” He asked.
“Good fucking question.” I practically yelled and got a dirty look from a woman sitting next to me.
“Fuck is this slander or something?” He asked.
“Argh I don’t know, I think maybe but she’s not really saying anything particularly damaging for my career at least.” I said.
“Babe what the hell she said I tried to kiss her?” He asked obviously still reading the article.
“Yes, Nathan I’m going to go see what she has to say for herself.” I said impatiently standing up, ready to get off at the stop.
“What? No Paris I think that’s a really bad idea.”
“Well I’m nearly at the building, Nathan you’re forgetting that she was my best friend, this is not just some random journalist that wrote a story.”
“Ok Paris if you want to confront her that’s fine, but I honestly think you shouldn’t go alone, you say she hasn’t printed anything to affect your career but what if she does, I honestly think that you may just provoke
her.” He explained.
“I get what you’re saying but I want to talk to her, plus I still need to pick up some of my stuff too.” I justified, my arguments were becoming pretty weak.
“Babe this is the last thing I’ll say about it, I think it will get to Audrey more if you ignore it, don’t play into her petty teenage games.” Nathan said maturely.
“I love you Nathan, and just because I don’t agree with you right now doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate your advice.” I said finally stopping my speed walking and leaning against a brick wall close to the apartment.
“Just trying this new thing, umm I think it’s called communication with the woman I love?” He said lightly.
“I like it.” I smiled.
“Alright well when you’re done ranting and raving at Audrey come over and I’ll talk to my manager see what can be done about the website.” He said.
We exchanged I love you’s and I continued my trek to my old apartment.

Irreparable
*Hey guys, I'm really sorry I havent posted! I suck heaps I know! I have never been so stressed in my entire life, school absoutley killed me. I've been close to having a break down, but anyway school is almost over, and next week you guys will have WAY more consistency, if I can build up enough posts then I can hopefully posts everyday next week...again thats a maybe but I'll try my hardest! I honestly hope I havent lost any readers since by break and I promise to my loyal readers I will do my best to make you love me again ;) I hope everyone has had a safe and happy October + beginning of November! I've missed writing heaps!
Everybody left me and George’s house about midday we all had lunch together, it was really lovely, I can’t wait for our families to meet each other, I think that most of them will get along really well. Chelsea promised me we’d meet in the city one day this week for lunch, so that will be lovely. Nathan went to see Lesley, Brad and Martine before they left, and apparently it was very awkward with Martine, poor Nathan it doesn’t look like that particular relationship will be fully healed for some time.
So I was having a fairly lazy Sunday after everyone left and I got a mysterious email from Leigh from work, it was a link to dish the dirt with a message that said “Call my if you want to talk honey,”, Leigh isn’t really the ‘send the celebrity gossip link to a friend’ kind of girl so I was immediately concerned.
I clicked on the link and was faced with an entire 1000 word story about me. There were photos to accompany the article and it was less than a flattering image portrayed.
“Paris Lorre well your time has finally come; the little minx and her boyfriend Nathan Luken are apparently on the rocks, yuck. Poor girl, finally introduced to the high life and it’s about to be snatched away from her. Nathans friends were supposably less than thrilled when they met the young journalist, since then Nathan has been trying to distance himself...”
That was followed by a photo of Nathan and I hugging in the street and him breaking away looking angry (this was a joke at the time because we wouldn’t be seeing each other on the weekend, he was angry we had to leave not because we were ‘on the rocks’...).
“Paris’ roommate –who has chosen to be unnamed in this article- told Dish the Dirt that Paris was doing anything to keep Nathan interested, including very loud all night sexy times, Paris’ roommate also said that Nathan was continuously flirty with the her and was even bold enough to try to kiss her, she ignored it to attempt to keep a friendship with Paris intact.”
This was followed by a photo of Nathan and I after his game, when we were talking in the little corner, his hands were resting just above my ass, and we were just breaking from the kiss, the next photo was Nathan being tackled by his friends and me watching from the side, smiling. This was obviously trying to enhance the magazines point that his friends don’t like me.
“It’s a shame; we really thought that this simple girl could finally tame this wild beast of a football player, oh well let’s roll on the next girl who is willing to change herself completely for a boy.”
Followed by a photo of me in track pants with no make-up on going to the gym compared to a photo of me at Nathans first game linking with Georgie, my hair was done in nice curls and I wore simple make-up with a little dress and gladiator sandals.
To say I was shocked was an understatement, the article went on and on about how I wasn’t good enough for Nathan and how surprising it was we lasted this long. This had one persons dirty little finger prints all over it, so I did what I thought I had to do. I paid Audrey a little visit.

Make Up's?
“So you won huh?” I said in lure of hello to Nathan when he called me just after 11pm.
“We won! I’m really happy you were there Paris.” He said quietly.
“Me too.” I replied honestly.
“So can I come over?” He asked carefully.
“...If you want to.” I replied, it’s not that I didn’t want him to come over, it’s just I didn’t want to sound like a broken record and ask when we were going to talk about our ‘issues’, if we didn’t do it straight away then we would probably never do it.
“Don’t sound too excited.” He chuckled.
“I’m sorry, I do want to see you, it’s just a little weird.”I said.
“Weird how?” He asked softly.
“Um well, I guess after our fight there’s a lot that needs to be said.” I answered.
“Ok well what do you want to say?” He asked.
I exhaled loudly; I didn’t really know where this conversation was leading. “So when you went to Melbourne, and that shit happened with Katie, you never really gave an explanation.” I said softly.
“I went to Melbourne with the team; our coaches don’t give us a lot of notice on these sorts of things, especially so close to a season starting and by the time I was told about it you and I were not speaking, I just didn’t know what to say and they took away our phones, but Georgie got in touch with the couch who told me about it and I came home.” He answered honestly.
“Ok.” I replied.
“I was angry Paris, Brett is a complete creep and I tried to tell you that and you didn’t listen, and then I had to hear you tell me about it when he finally showed his true colours and you were surprised, and I didn’t say anything at the time, that’s why it all came out the other night.” Nate said calmly, he wasn’t getting on the defence just explaining his point of view.
“I honestly believed he just wanted to be friends Nate, I would never have put myself in that position had I thought he was after something more.” I said.
“...I wasn’t sure I believed that before but I know you Paris and I know you wouldn’t intentionally out yourself in that place.” He said.
We were silent for a while before I started talking.
“So why didn’t you want me there today?” I asked.
“I don’t know a weird supposition that I have, I usually only have family at the first game, and I didn’t know how to tell you without sounding like a prick.” He said.
“You know you would have sounded like way less of a prick if you’d just told me, if you’d told me I would have been fine to cheer you on from home if that’s what you wanted.” I said.
He sighed, “I know, and every time I got close I just couldn’t.”
“Ok, well in future let’s just be honest with each other, I don’t want you to keep things from me because you’re scared of my reaction.” I said a few tears escaping my eyes.
“Ok, deal honesty.” He said.
“If you still wanna come over you ca-, sorry, hold on the door bell is ringing.” I said and made my way to the front door wiping my tears.
Nate was at my door, his phone in hand and some flowers in the other. I pulled him inside and kissed him, we didn’t speak he just wiped my tears away and pulled me close against him.
“I love you Paris Lorre and I couldn’t imagine not being with you.” He whispered in my ear, as he picked me up off the ground and carried me to my room.
“We won! I’m really happy you were there Paris.” He said quietly.

Round 1 - The Win
Nathan played an AMAZING game, he looked so good on the field, throwing the ball and kicking it, they won by a mile, so it wasn’t an overly exciting game, from the first quarter everyone could tell that the Eagles were going to win. Seeing as there was no tension with the game apparently the crowd soaked it up, and by the crowd I mean Martine.
As soon as I walked up with Chelsea, Jake and Georgie (Belle and Matt took a little longer to get ready, they were meeting us later) awkwardness filled the air.
“Hello everyone, I didn’t think you were coming Paris.” Martine said.
“Nope, Nathan called me this morning, I changed my plans.” I said and suddenly Lesley wrapped me up in a tight hug.
“You look beautiful Paris, I’m so glad you made it.”She said genuinely.
“Chelsea what’s wrong you look sick my dear.” Lesley said as she enveloped her, Martine stood up for the side watching the scene play out in front of her.
“Bit of a hangover is all.” She laughed.
“Really Chelsea? It’s your brother’s big day you shouldn’t have been selfish.” Martine chimed in.
“Mum you know Nathans had heaps of big days, I had a good night with everyone.”
“Hmm well I just think perhaps you could have been a little bit more sensitive, you know how nervous he gets.” She said.
“Well I’m bloody well here aren’t I?” She said quickly and falling back in line with me Georgie and Jake, he still had barely acknowledged his mothers presence.
“Now Georgie you’ve done something different with your hair?” Lesley asked fingering Georgie lighter locks.
“Yeah I have, it’s a nice change.” She replied.
“Hmm blonde is a lot of maintenance.” Martine again chimed in; she was even more negative than normal.
“Well I think it looks lovely, we going in?” I interrupted and linked arms with Georgie as we led everyone into the stadium.
Suddenly I became aware of somebody snapping pictures of me.
“What is he doing?” I asked Georgie.
“Welcome to a wag world.” The man snapping the pictures said as he winked
and started backing away.
“What the hell was that?” Chelsea said as she ran up behind me.
“Some pap wanted a photo of Paris.” Georgie laughed.
“Eww, I don’t want a photo of me! I’m SO not a wag, why do people keep saying that to me!” I moaned.
“Well maybe you should have thought about not wanting the wag status before you started dating a football player.” Martine added from behind.
“But then we wouldn’t have her lovely company.” Lesley added gosh she was good at turning a negative comment into a positive.
Soon we were all wedged into the seats in the VIP stand, well not wedged I’m not going to lie the seats were lovely, we were in the important area. The stadium took my breath away, I hadn’t been to a football game in a VERY long time, the sun beat down and there were soooo many people! All had different team jerseys, and people were milling around attempting to find their seats. The VIP apparently usually just housed girlfriends/wives/children that hang but it was a special day for the first game, so it was jam packed with club officials and the owners and stuff I was so busy trying to take in all the famous faces that surrounded me then the bell sounded to signify the beginning of the game...
It began with the Australian anthem all the players looking extremely reverent, it was hard to imagine in just mere minutes both teams would begin to play as hard as possible to win. To be honest looking at Nathan on the field was mesmerizing, he looked so in control and his team was listening to him, he got tackled a couple of times I have never felt so protective over someone, we obviously still needed to talk about our fight but I finally realised how important this boy was to me and how hard it was to watch someone you love being beaten down (even if he was getting up seconds later ready for round 2).
“So are you ok?” I asked Jake carefully; ever since we got to the stadium he was in a terrible mood.
“Hmmm, just a little weird with mum.” He answered watching the field with serious concentration.
“Wanna talk about it?” I asked as casually as I could muster, he shook his head and gave me an affectionate pat on the back.
About half an hour after the game ended the boys came out into the VIP area, the temporary walls were removed and the space became huge, waiters appeared and the music started playing. Nathan came over to our little group; we were being a little anti-social only because every time Georgie, Chelsea or me saw someone even mildly famous we’d let out a little squeal and ‘subtly’ point them out.
Nathans arms were soon wrapping themselves around me from behind, I turned around and he pulled me close,
“Thank you.” Was all he whispered in my ear, cue extremely weak knees I didn’t care that his family was watching at that point, I gave him a congratulations kiss, he looked extremely delighted.
“GOOD GAME!” Chelsea and Georgie screamed together and wrapped in up in a group hug, Jake, Brad and Matt gave him a pat on the back, Belle gave him a kiss on the cheek, Lesley wrapped him up in big hug, then it was time for Martine they awkwardly hugged, obviously there was still some tension between them.
“Ok so we’re going to take you all out for dinner, I know you probably want to go out later Nathan with the boys but can we just have you for dinner?” Lesley asked Brad’s arm tight around her waist.
“I would love to come out for dinner, we just have to stay here for a bit longer, they are going to have some speeches and junk and then I’m free.” Nathan smiled in my direction.
“Good, good...” Brad added his face lit up when he saw any of the players; it was obvious his fantasy was coming true.
I realised it was probably time for me to leave, I was only there to support Nathan, we still needed to talk, I wasn’t prepared to just let this issue get swept under the rug.
“Ok guys, I think I better go.” I smiled, instantly Martine looked relieved.
I was met with lots of protests from Lesley, Brad, Georgie, Chelsea, Belle and Matt (Who only arrived just before the game started). Nathan just watched me, as I gave everyone hugs with promises to see them all for breakfasts tomorrow...Nathan grabbed my hand and led me outside.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come for dinner?” He asked as we found a little corner hidden away.
“No, I mean I want to but I shouldn’t, but babe I’m really proud of you.” I said.
“I didn’t mean what I said you know, I just got on the defence, and I was a complete ass.” He said.
“You weren’t the only ass in the room, I shouldn’t have brought up your family stuff, I had absolutely no right.” I said looking down; his finger gently pushed my chin so we were eye level.
“I’m not going to lie it was hard to hear, but you were completely right. I -,” he was cut off, a couple of his teammates practically tackling him to the ground and pushing him inside, he managed a quick kiss and a promise to call me later before they literally picked him up and dragged him inside.
As soon as I walked up with Chelsea, Jake and Georgie (Belle and Matt took a little longer to get ready, they were meeting us later) awkwardness filled the air.

“I’m not going to lie it was hard to hear, but you were completely right. I -,” he was cut off, a couple of his teammates practically tackling him to the ground and pushing him inside, he managed a quick kiss and a promise to call me later before they literally picked him up and dragged him inside.

Flight or Fight?
“So have your gotten tickets to the game yet?”Danny asked me and Nate gave him very wide eyes.
“Arrr no, was I supposed to?” I asked confused, my eyes flicked between Danny and Nathan.
“Well the first game is on Saturday, so yeah you probably should.” Danny said finally realising the tension that was developing between Nathan and me.
Nathan, Danny, Georgie and I were having a celebratory dinner over our new roommate situations; we ordered Chinese and were just sitting in front of the TV waiting for the movie we ordered to start.
“Uh well I didn’t know about it so obviously I’m not welcome.” I said a little harshly, Danny was giving Nathan an ‘I’m sorry dude’ look. I got up and dumped my plate in the sink, a little childish I know. But why didn’t Nate want me there?
There was awkward whispers coming from the living room, I could hear Georgie getting angry at him in hushed tones and he was trying to explain himself in exactly the same manner, she wouldn’t let him get a word in...
I walked into Nate’s room to finish packing up my things. Nathan walked in soon after and shut the door behind him.
“Paris I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.” He said.
“Seriously Nathan, you NEVER communicate ANYTHING.” I said.
“I didn’t know how to tell you.” He said looking down.
“What, you didn’t know how to tell me you don’t want your girlfriend of three months at your first game? Well don’t worry too much your friend did it for you, like your sister told me that you were in Melbourne and your cousin told me about you growing with your aunt...there’s a lot of things that your don’t mention Nate.” I said angrily, trying to keep my voice level, I know it was a low blow about his family stuff but I was angry, and we really hadn’t communicated with each other very well lately.
“Really Paris you want to bring up things I’ve done wrong? Ok let’s get out your laundry list shall we? Hmm number 1 Brett, I warned you about him and then you’re surprised when he tried to break us up, there was Audrey all the shit she did, and your constant complaining about her...” He was really angry.
“Fuck you.” I said as I made a move to walk out of his room.
“No come on you said I don’t communicate now is our chance to start.” He said from behind as his hand reached around and shut the door.
“So what you’re sick of my constant complaining?” I yelled.
“I didn’t mean that, I’m just saying we’ve both been wrong.” He justified his voice raised.
“I never said you were the only one at fault...I meant WE both don’t communicate.” My voice still loud but I wasn’t yelling.
“Ok fine, I don’t want you at my first game, happy?” He said harshly.
“Overjoyed.” I said as I gave him a sarcastic smile and walked out to the living room.
“Georgie can we go, or do you want to stay?” I asked as I was gathering up my stuff.
“Nope we can go.” She answered quickly, giving Danny a quick kiss on the cheek and following me.
“See ya Danny.” I said just as Nathan was walking out of his room, his face stormy.
Ok so Nathan and I currently aren’t talking, and obviously I didn’t just want to hear he didn’t want me at his game but why. I really don’t care that he didn’t want me there, he probably has reasons but he WONT talk to my about it, that’s the problem, I would have been happy to sit at home cheering him on in front of the TV, but I want to know WHY I have to? Clearly there are more problems in this relationship then I thought.

Homeless
“WHAT SHE KICKED YOU OUT?” Zoe screamed after I told her the story, I managed to keep it together for all of about 5 minutes after walking into her apartment and I broke down in tears.
“Yep, I’m homeless.” I cried.
“Oh sweetie, I knew she was bad news.” Zoe said handing me a shot of tequila.
“I didn’t, she was my best friend, I have known her for a long time I didn’t expect her to say those things to me.” I said sculling the tequila.
“Unfortunately that’s just what happens, you outgrow people and that is the sucky reality of life. Why do you think so many people get divorced? Look the thing is your in completely different places in your lives, you’re getting offered internships overseas and she is barely getting published, I don’t mean that in a bitchy way they are the facts.” She said.
“I know argh Zo why are you so smart?” I asked.
“I have no idea.”
“Zo where am I going to live?” I asked shutting my eyes.
“You can stay here until you find something...I’ll look after you darling.” She said sympathetically.

That was the last thing I remember before falling asleep, it was one of the best sleeps I’ve had alone in a long time.
Work the next day, Audrey and I hadn’t spoken but I didn’t expect us to, I still needed to go and get some things from the apartment, like my bed and stuff but I’d need a moving truck, Nathan would probably help, I decided to go see him after work.
Danny answered the door,
“Ooo you look miserable.” He said in way of hello.
“Hmm, I’m ok.” I said walking inside.
“Nathans in his room.” Danny said as he resumed his position in front of the TV.
“Hey baby...” I said knocking on his door and pushing it open, he had an ice bag on his knee and was reading a magazine.
“Hey.” He answered.
“What happened?” I asked taking position next to him on the bed.
“Oh nothing much, just an old knee injury playing up, it’ll be fine.” He answered putting his magazine down and snaking his hand around my waist.
“Damn, do you want a massage?” I asked playfully.
He laughed softly, “Maybe later.”
“How was your day?” He asked.
“Hmm ok, I stayed at Zoe’s last night.” I answered.
“Why?” He asked.
“Audrey kicked me out...”
“What?” He asked shocked.
“Hmm there was a photo of Katie and her together, I asked her why, and then it escalated, we both said things and I am now homeless.”
“What? I don’t even know what to say.” He replied stunned.
“Yep, I’m over her...I need to find somewhere to live.” I said thinking out loud.
“You can move in here if you want...just until you find somewhere else.” He asked.
“uhh...are you sure?” I asked.
“Why not? We have sleepovers all the time, and it won’t take you long to find somewhere.”He suggested.
“There’s a big difference between sleepovers a couple of times a week, and bringing all my stuff here while I look for a new place...” I said.
“Yes but your only staying until you get a place...” He prodded.
“Hmm ok.” I smiled and kissed him gently.
“Good, and Danny can help me get the big pieces of furniture because he owes me...” Nathan smiled and kissed the top of my nose.
“Nathan I’m not sure what Audrey is going to do...I mean what if she prints stuff about you.” I said.
“Come on, she wouldn’t do that, you guys have had a pretty bad fight but Audrey wouldn’t do that.”
She wouldn’t, would she?
“Yep, I’m homeless.” I cried.

Evidence
So this morning I turned on the computer at work and something interesting caught my attention, I was on an Australian gossip website and a photo of Audrey and Katie Santsee stared back at me mocking me, they were standing close together looking like old friends. To say I was shocked was an understatement...My mind flooded with possibilities, and I had lots of questions...firstly since when did Audrey warrant the kind of attention to be put on a gossip website, why the hell was she posing for a photo with KATIE, the woman spat on me for god sake!!!!!! My blood was boiling when I got home, I was irrationally angry, I couldn’t help it.
“AUDREY!” I bellowed when I walked in the front door.
“Mmm?” She replied from the kitchen she was baking cookies.
“I saw something interesting today.” I said.
“And that was?” She replied licking spoon from the left over dough.
“A photo of you and Katie Santsee.” I answered showing her.
“O-M-G that made it into A GOSSIP SITE?” She screamed excitedly.
“Yes, why are you hanging out with her?” I asked.
“I’m not hanging out with her Paris, I ran into her on a night out, she was pretty cool. I know you guys have had issues but I’m steering clear of it.” She replied.
“‘Had issues’? Audrey the woman spat on me and accused me of fucking her boyfriend while I was at work.” I said keeping my voice relatively calm.
“Well you kind of did, didn’t you?” She asked.
“NO Audrey what the hell? You know I would never do that!” I retorted harshly.
“Paris they may not have been together, together but everyone thought they were.” She replied.
“How dare you? You’re supposed to be my friend, as in if somebody spits on me and makes a scene you’re automatically supposed to be on my side.” I almost screamed.
“Come on Paris, aren’t we a little bit old to have sides, and to be honest I like Katie she was fun and not high maintenance unlike some of my other friends.” She yelled, and it was implied that I was the high maintenance friend.
“Really Audrey I’m high maintenance? Do whatever you like; I’m done with your bullshit.” I screamed.
“Well if you’re done with my bullshit, you can get out of MY apartment.” She screamed back.
I was left open mouthed; she had just kicked me out. We had had fought before but it was never like this, she had NEVER threatened to kick me out, I walked calmly to my room, sent a message to Zoe asking if I could stay at her place tonight and packed my bag, she sent back no worries. I managed to pack all my bags and a lot of little things that surrounded my room. I was moving on auto pilot all I could think about was getting out of this toxic apartment.
Seriously I was just confused I don’t know what’s going on with Audrey lately, frankly she’s a jealous cow and I’m completely over not knowing what mood she’s going to be in when I get home at night.
I walked out of my room and she was sitting on the couch eating some freshly baked cookies and watching TV, we didn’t speak as I walked out of the apartment.
I don’t think this particular situation was a friendship ending thing between Audrey and I but we’d both been waiting for anything to create some distance between us and finally there was something. Sigh.
“AUDREY!” I bellowed when I walked in the front door.

Ugliness
When I got to Nate’s apartment after hanging out with Georgie it was clear he was NOT happy with me. He opened the door, his usually cuddly nature nonexistent, Uh-Oh.
“Hey.” I said, giving him a kiss, which he pulled away from VERY quickly.
“Hi.”
A Painfully awkward silence occurred. He hadn’t invited me in so I was just standing in his doorway.
“...so, can I come in or?” I asked carefully.
He moved slightly and I walked in, ok so he was mad at me. I might be a little late to the game, but I can catch on to the rules pretty quickly.
Again I stood awkwardly, looking at his lounge room. I turned around to see Nate watching me.
“Ok, so you’re obviously mad at me.” I said I tried to keep my voice light, I really wasn’t good at arguments and one was definitely brewing.
“Yep.” He said walking right passed me and plonking himself on the couch.
“Hmm ok. Why?” I asked following him.
“Really Paris, you have no clue?” he asked.
“Well... I saw you last night, and we were all having fun.” I answered honestly.
“Yeah, you were having a great time. So was Brett.” He replied angrily.
I couldn’t help it; I rolled my eyes and scoffed. “We were all having fun Nate.”
“Oh yeah we all had a great time, I’m sure if you laughed any louder at Brett’s jokes you would have cracked a rib.”He said standing up and getting some water.
“Nathan, Brett and I are just friends! I would never, ever jeopardise what we have.”I sighed.
He seemed to calm down a little. “I feel like an ass Paris, but the way he looks at you...”He said.
“Don’t feel like an ass Nate, Brett is just a friend. I don’t think of him like that and he doesn’t think of me like that, if you spent more time with him you’d realise that.” I said.
“So your gonna keep hanging out with him then?” He asked his tone harsh once again.
“Uh...yeah. He is my friend Nate.” I said slightly aggravated.
Then it got worse, we both got overly heated, about a completely silly subject. I ended up leaving, the issues remain unresolved...I know that Brett and I had a weird moment, but I just wished Nathan trusted ME enough to realise that I would NEVER do anything to screw up this relationship.
He obviously doesn’t realise how much I care about him.
“Hey.” I said, giving him a kiss, which he pulled away from VERY quickly.
“Hi.”
