Today’s the day it happens. Today’s the day I throw my life in to turmoil for the prospect of something different. The city of romance and art, good things happen in Paris. It’s just a cab ride, 22 hour flight with a short stop off in Singapore and another cab and I’m home for the next 3 months. I really don’t know what emotion is more powerful, the excitement or the utter fear that’s pumping through my body. I wasn’t a virgin to this travelling thing, I’d done it lots before even for longer period of time but something in me was fighting this particular adventure and it was getting hard to ignore.
“I’m going to miss you so much.” Georgie said giving me a massive hug.
“I’m going to miss you too.” I said getting teary.
Zoe was soon to quickly jump in for a hug and a quick pep talk in my ear.
I asked them both not to come to the airport with me, I probably wouldn’t have gotten on the plane if they insisted on coming with me, I already felt the tears brimming.
“Now I only want you to think about us when you send us our daily emails, our twice weekly skype sessions and weekly phones calls!” Zoe said.
I laughed out loud and just as quickly I began crying, “I…I don’t want to go.” I sobbed, I was close to having a full blown mental attack, Zoe and Georgie shared a look of, WTF do we do?
“I’m sorry, yes I do want to go. I’m being ridiculous. I’m beyond excited.” I said, it sounded like I was trying to convince myself of something I wasn’t sure of. Like when you know you need to wash your hair but convince yourself one more day of dry shampoo will be fine, and its totally not.
The cab ride was exhausting I was balling my eyes out, it probably didn’t that I was in the middle of major PMS. Nathan was also in the forefront of my mind, I couldn’t help but replay our relationship in my head, the happy times, the sad times, the special times, it was all getting to much.
The cab driver was watching my break down from the mirror, “are you ok miss?” He asked multiple times, I’d reply with the same bland response, “I’m fine, I’m sorry I’m such a mess.”
I checked into my flight avoiding any major dramas, the girl that was checking me in did a double take at me, I guess the red swollen eyes alerted her to me. Go figure.
Just as I was about to walk through customs an officer waiting at the beginning of the line tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to follow him, thoughts raced through my head, what had I done wrong? I’d been in the fricken line minding my own business.
“Just go back out there miss theres somebody waiting for you, and don’t look so panicked you’re not in trouble.” He said customs officers with a wink and a smile.
“Um so what exactly is the problem? I have a plane to catch to Paris.” I said bewildered.
“I’m sure it wont take long, just trust me and go out there.” He said nicely but quite firmly.
I agreed and walked outside where none other then Nathan was waiting, with a bunch of fake roses.

Leaving Kicking & Screaming
*Sorry I know its been over a week without a post, I have been really sick, never vomited sooo much in my life (Sorry is that to much info?) anyhoooo I'm going away tomorrow for 2 nights so I will be wrapping up this season soon! Sorry guys! :)
Last night was a blast, Zoe and Georgie called some people from the magazine like Minnie, Yasmine, Leigh and some of the freelance girls and guys that I’ve had a fair bit to do with came and Belle, Chelsea, and Lesley to meet us for dinner! AND my sister Grace and her partner Simon, they left baby Harrison at home though :(.
We arrived at the restaurant about 8.30pm, I was completely surprised by everyone that had come, and as far as I was concerned it was just Zoe, Georgie and I, it turns out they’d organised a few of my nearest and dearest to bid me farewell.
“You guys didn’t have to do this!” I said embracing them both with tears in my eyes.
“We had to do something special for you; we’re not seeing you for 3 months.” Georgie said also getting teary, we had a group hug and then it was time for us to greet all the guests.
Grace and I were bouncing around to; she was wearing this beautiful short dress she’d actually lost most of her baby weight already, and Simon was looking really happy but exhausted, Yasmine was about 7 months gone now so Grace and her spent a lot of time talking about baby business. My sister was beaming, motherhood suited her, she was glowing and Simon was watching her with the biggest smile.
It was great to see everyone I loved under one roof, we were all dancing and drinking and I was having an amazing time. Eventually people started clearing out but some of the Radiance girls and Georgie, Grace, Zoe and I kept on dancing for most of the night and well into the next day. Danny even made a little appearance but the coaches are kicking the teams butts in training, I guess it’s cause its nearing finals time and they need to get practicing their old strategy now Nathans back.
I realised how much I was going to miss these girls, I’ve always been a girl that’s blessed with many friends, most great, but this group, well it the thought of leaving them and my job and my general comforts makes me feel physically ill, and on top of all that leaving my brand new baby nephew, who’d I only met a handful of times anyway was going to be tough.
“Are you all packed and ready?” Grace asked, we were taking a break from out dancathon.
“I’m packed, and I’m ready I guess.” I smiled.
“You guess?” She asked.
“Things are a little complicated. I wish I just had some closure, I’m referring to Nathan.”
“No shit Sherlock, are you going to see him before you leave?” Grace asked lightly.
“I can’t decide, in a way I want to so bad, but then again it would be nice just to go to Paris and be completely free of everything.”
“Will you really be free of everything if you don’t talk to him?” Grace asked.
I hesitated for a second and Grace jumped in.
“You’re a big scaredy cat Paris Lorre, it sucks you were hurt by him but now you too afraid to the mess you both made, clearly Nathan was wrong but you’re not any better by not giving him a chance to explain himself. The boy wants to talk to you, don’t be so freakin’ stubborn and at the very least hear him out.” She finished breathless gave me a kiss on the cheek and went back to dancing. She certainly told me.
With that I decided to take a breath of fresh air outside and do what I had been putting off all night. I had to listen to the voicemail Nathan had left me…
“Paris, I know you don’t want to talk to me. But you can’t leave the country without letting me explain, I know I’m an ass and don’t deserve it but I NEED to talk to you.” He finished.
The desperation in his voice was evident, he was hurting but so was I, so why do I always have to be the bigger person, why couldn’t I kick and scream and refuse to do what EVERYONE expected me to do?

2 Weeks Later
“I can’t believe your leaving in two days.” Georgie said, she was sitting on my bed ‘helping’ me pack.
“I know, it’s gone so fast.” I said.
“As long as it only for three months!” Zoe bargained, she was also ‘helping’.
“It is only three months, I promise.” I soothed.
“Ok, it’s settled we’re going out tonight, all of us.” Georgie said.
“Nah, I’ve got too much to do tonight.”
“No, where going out! It doesn’t have to be a late one, just a fun one!” Zoe encouraged.
“Just no.”I said laughing, I was vaguely aware that they were going to win.
“OK, it’s settled we will be leaving here at like 8 for dinner, does that work for you Zoe?” Georgie asked, sending multiple texts from her phone.
“Yeah, that gives us, what? Like 3 hours to sort ourselves out.” Zoe answered.
“Do I get any say in this?” I whined from the corner.
“No you don’t.” Georgie answered. “Alright, well you can just borrow one of my dresses, saves you going home.” She finished addressing Zoe.
“Ooo good idea, let’s go have a look in your cupboard.”
“Guys I don-” that’s as far as I got in my protests, they were already talking over me and planning our nights adventures.
I continued to pack for a while, when I realised that it was a little too quiet between Zoe and Georgie, so I tip toed down the hallway to see what was going on...
“She’s not doing too well is she?”I heard Zoe ask.
“No, you should have seen it at Lesley’s house, she was shattered...he was too, but his a fine actor when need be.”
“Yeah, she didn’t really talk about it.” Zoe said.
“He needs to talk to her before she leaves.”
“I know, but I doubt she’s going to want to talk to him, and would he even want to talk to her?”
“Yeah, he does, well that’s what he said, he just doesn’t know how.” Georgie said.
“Well how are we going to organise it?” Zoe asked.
“You aren’t.” I said with venom in my voice that made them both jump. “I don’t want to see him, I’m sorry but you two are way out of line, I can’t see him, do you understand that? I CANT.” I finished off yelling and walking out of the room.
“Paris...wait, hold on.” I heard Georgie call out after me but it was too late I was already out the door.
I was walking down the stairs when I banged into someone, “I’m sorry, excuse me.” I muttered.
“Paris?” None other than Nathan Luken questioned me.
I sighed “I can’t do this Nathan, please just leave it.” I said as I walked away.
“Paris...” I heard him finish desperately.
“I know, it’s gone so fast.” I said.

Honestly?
“Hey pretty lady.” Zoe greeted me at the elevator; we were going to lunch together.
“Hey yourself.” I said kissing her on the cheek.
“How’s organising going for Paris?” She asked.
“Really well, Minnie’s practically got everything sorted, I’m staying with the beauty editor for their magazines for a couple of weeks while my accommodation is being organised.”
“Ooooo well remember I’m your favourite beauty editor of them all.” Zoe teased as we were getting on the elevator.
I laughed, “Of course.”
“I’m sad that you’re leaving me though.” Zoe said linking her arm in mine while we took to the street to find somewhere nice to eat.
“Me to, but I’m looking forward to a break.” I said.
“Hmm what from?” She asked.
“Real life I guess.” Zoe looked at me shocked before I began again, “God that sounded grim didn’t it?” I laughed lightly.
“What’s wrong with your life at the moment?” She asked.
“Nathan and I are we,..we aren’t right.” I said.
“Paris can I say something, without you getting offended?” She asked.
“Yes of course you can.” I said as we continued to walk along the street towards our favourite cafe, which we silently decided to go to.
“You spend a lot of time justifying your relationship, wondering what’s going on or being miserable.” She stopped talking as we sat down outside,
I wasn’t sure how to take it. Nathan and I have been happy, happier that I’ve in a long time, but on the flip side of that we’ve had lots of fights.
“I’m sorry if that sounded harsh, I didn’t mean it to, I just wanted to give an outsiders view.”
“No it’s ok, I’m a little lost, I feel like if I leave him now then I’m leaving when things got hard.”I said.
“I’m not telling you to break up with Nathan, but his injury isn’t life threatening and you told me he was getting his results back tomorrow, and he will mostly likely be playing again soon, you supported him through his hard time and now it’s your turn, you’re travelling soon and it’ll be a good chance to have some space.”
Tears sprung to my eyes, her honestly I think it’s because she said everything I was thinking, I never knew Zoe to be so honest, I needed to talk to Nathan, I needed this sorted out.
“Hey yourself.” I said kissing her on the cheek.

Goose Bumps
Zoe and I both turned our heads, my skin covered in goose bumps I don’t know why we were acting such weirdos.
“Excuse me ladies, would you like a psychic reading?” A friendly looking
woman asked.
“Ummm,” I hesitated.
“Sure.” Zoe chimed in excitedly.
“Ok great, follow me.” She said taking her time to look us both up and down. Now I’ve never been that into psychic, but my mum was, so as a result I’d end up going with her, I found it really interesting, but that’s about all I got out of it. The woman led us around the corner to a purple painted door with the name Susan’s psychic printed on the front; I wondered why she chose to call out after us.
“How much will this cost?” Zoe asked as we walked through the door. As soon as I did I was confronted with a room full of purple, it looked like a stereotypical psychic office, but Susan herself looked just like every other commuter after work. The desk that separated us from her was had no embellishments, behind Susan there were a couple of photos, beaches mainly, some with lovers holding hands, I guess it made sense we were right across the road from the beach.
“I’ll do a free reading today, I saw you two at the cafe and our both looked a little lost.” She smiled friendly.
I raised my eyebrows at Zoe and she gave me a little smirk.
“Ok who’s first?” Susan asked as we were getting comfy on her
I shook my head at Zoe and she jumped in, “I’ll go.”
“Do you want your friend to stay?” Susan asked and Zoe nodded.
“Ok so, your name sweetheart?” Susan asked.
“Zoe.” She answered.
“Hmm ok Zoe, now you clearly work in fashion.” She answered.
Zoe’s mouth gaped, “I work at Radiance, how’d you know?”
“Umm well your dressed lovely and you were carrying around a stack of magazines.” Susan answered smiling, I laughed out loud and Susan joined it.
“Oh right.” Zoe smiled.
“Ok so you have had a pretty up and down year, there was a man in the picture, I believe you perhaps thought he was going to be a serious relationship but that ended painfully.” Zoe’s face was full of shock at that point, I was wondering if Susan would be able to play off people’s reactions or she genuinely knew.
“Hmm he is quite a selfish young man but he will grow out of it and be very happy by the time his 30, just not with you.” Susan smiled sweetly.
“Good.” Zoe said quietly.
“What else, well the young man in the picture now, he genuinely cares for you, but he is also a little selfish, it’s something you both can work through but it will be hard, I believe in the end this man is the one you will end up with, even if obstacles get in your way, hmm his name is fairly appropriate to getting through this...I can’t quite get it...Breaker, that’s it.” Susan said through closed eyes and a satisfied smile. “Break through the challenges and you will be happy.”
Zoe’s mouth was wide with shock, as was mine, how did this woman know?
“Any questions you’d specifically like to ask?” Susan said.
“Umm what about me job? How will that be in the New Year?” Zoe asked.
“Hmm some extreme challenges face you, you are getting a promotion, yes?” Susan asked for conformation.
“Yes, I am.”
“Ok well it will be difficult but there will be many people to help you through.”
Susan talked for a bit longer, mostly about Zoe’s family and how happy they would be in the New Year, she also predicted a health scare for a female in her but in the end it will all work out in the best outcome, whatever that means.
“Hmmm so your turn love?” Susan smiled sweetly in my direction.
“I guess so, Paris.” I said smiling while introducing myself.
“Hmm ok Paris let’s see...” Susan was quiet for a long time before starting, I looked panicked at Zoe who gave me a reassuring look. “Well your boyfriend plays some sort of sport does he?”
“Yes, football.” I answered.
“Well I’m not sure how much longer he will be playing; challenges are going to face you in the next few months, big unavoidable challenges in your relationship that will change both of you forever. I can’t see what exactly but I know this time next year nothing will be the same.” Susan answered.
I looked at her puzzled, “What?” I asked panicked, I loved my life now, I didn’t want anything to change besides the pervy paparazzi that have taken to following me around.
“Unfortunately your future isn’t as clear to me as Zoe’s was, which means you still have some pretty important decisions to make and it will probably be very soon that your faced with these decisions.”
“Ok.” I whispered.
“I have only one bit of advice for you, the only certainty in your life at the moment, is if you take all the opportunities your career offers you then you will excel beyond any dream you’ve had.”
Susan then wrapped up the reading, she had scheduled appointments coming through and needed to time to cleanse the room or something. I didn’t know what to make of the reading, Zoe got such a clear accurate reading and it seems like mine was just a lot of jumbled words trying to make me scared, Nathan and I are fine, I’m doing wonderfully at my job and I have nothing to worry about.
I wish I wasn’t so sure about that, or what came next maybe wouldn’t have been so hard to deal with.
“Excuse me ladies, would you like a psychic reading?” A friendly looking

Playing Catch Up
Finally Zoe and I got to catch up after work today, we’ve both been so busy, and work has been killing her, but it’s starting to slow down. The thing is nearing Christmas, we need to get two magazine issues done, because we have the week from Christmas to New Year off and we have to be absolutely prepared to go straight to press the week after everyone is back, on the plus Hally has been keeping her distance from me, which was unexpected, I thought after the magazine article she’d be on my case, but no, she’s backed right off.
Zoe and I were catching up at our favourite little cafe right by the water.
“So that article was...intense.” Zoe said once we had gotten comfortable.
“It was a little brutal, but Nathan and I have talked and apparently it’s all false.” I explained.
“...Oh well good, you’ve talked then.” She said.
“So what’s been going on with you then?” I asked.
“Umm not much, well actually I’ve been seeing someone.” She said with a big smile on her face.
“Really? That’s awesome, who is he?” I said genuinely excited for her.
“Well his name is Breaker.”
“Breaker? Hmm interesting, what does he do?” I asked, why is that always the first question? I would hate to be defined only by my career but it’s always the first generic question that pops in anyone’s head.
“He is a production assistant for channel 6, his really lovely.” She said her smile getting bigger and bigger.
“Ah cute Zoe, tell me everything.”I asked genuinely interested.
“Well his tall, has massive blue eyes, rocks a little bit of stubble and has these square black nerd glasses and is very sexy.” She smiled.
“Oooo he sounds really cute!” I laughed, she was smitten.
“Hmmm he is.” She said allowing herself to day dream for a minute.
We chatted easily about everything for about an hour, catching up on all the lost gossip from the last few weeks, eventually we were kicked out of the coffee shop and decided to walk along the main street, suddenly we were being beckoned by an unfamiliar voice, I’m not sure why but we both stopped dead in our tracks.

Homeless
“WHAT SHE KICKED YOU OUT?” Zoe screamed after I told her the story, I managed to keep it together for all of about 5 minutes after walking into her apartment and I broke down in tears.
“Yep, I’m homeless.” I cried.
“Oh sweetie, I knew she was bad news.” Zoe said handing me a shot of tequila.
“I didn’t, she was my best friend, I have known her for a long time I didn’t expect her to say those things to me.” I said sculling the tequila.
“Unfortunately that’s just what happens, you outgrow people and that is the sucky reality of life. Why do you think so many people get divorced? Look the thing is your in completely different places in your lives, you’re getting offered internships overseas and she is barely getting published, I don’t mean that in a bitchy way they are the facts.” She said.
“I know argh Zo why are you so smart?” I asked.
“I have no idea.”
“Zo where am I going to live?” I asked shutting my eyes.
“You can stay here until you find something...I’ll look after you darling.” She said sympathetically.

That was the last thing I remember before falling asleep, it was one of the best sleeps I’ve had alone in a long time.
Work the next day, Audrey and I hadn’t spoken but I didn’t expect us to, I still needed to go and get some things from the apartment, like my bed and stuff but I’d need a moving truck, Nathan would probably help, I decided to go see him after work.
Danny answered the door,
“Ooo you look miserable.” He said in way of hello.
“Hmm, I’m ok.” I said walking inside.
“Nathans in his room.” Danny said as he resumed his position in front of the TV.
“Hey baby...” I said knocking on his door and pushing it open, he had an ice bag on his knee and was reading a magazine.
“Hey.” He answered.
“What happened?” I asked taking position next to him on the bed.
“Oh nothing much, just an old knee injury playing up, it’ll be fine.” He answered putting his magazine down and snaking his hand around my waist.
“Damn, do you want a massage?” I asked playfully.
He laughed softly, “Maybe later.”
“How was your day?” He asked.
“Hmm ok, I stayed at Zoe’s last night.” I answered.
“Why?” He asked.
“Audrey kicked me out...”
“What?” He asked shocked.
“Hmm there was a photo of Katie and her together, I asked her why, and then it escalated, we both said things and I am now homeless.”
“What? I don’t even know what to say.” He replied stunned.
“Yep, I’m over her...I need to find somewhere to live.” I said thinking out loud.
“You can move in here if you want...just until you find somewhere else.” He asked.
“uhh...are you sure?” I asked.
“Why not? We have sleepovers all the time, and it won’t take you long to find somewhere.”He suggested.
“There’s a big difference between sleepovers a couple of times a week, and bringing all my stuff here while I look for a new place...” I said.
“Yes but your only staying until you get a place...” He prodded.
“Hmm ok.” I smiled and kissed him gently.
“Good, and Danny can help me get the big pieces of furniture because he owes me...” Nathan smiled and kissed the top of my nose.
“Nathan I’m not sure what Audrey is going to do...I mean what if she prints stuff about you.” I said.
“Come on, she wouldn’t do that, you guys have had a pretty bad fight but Audrey wouldn’t do that.”
She wouldn’t, would she?
“Yep, I’m homeless.” I cried.

Evidence
So this morning I turned on the computer at work and something interesting caught my attention, I was on an Australian gossip website and a photo of Audrey and Katie Santsee stared back at me mocking me, they were standing close together looking like old friends. To say I was shocked was an understatement...My mind flooded with possibilities, and I had lots of questions...firstly since when did Audrey warrant the kind of attention to be put on a gossip website, why the hell was she posing for a photo with KATIE, the woman spat on me for god sake!!!!!! My blood was boiling when I got home, I was irrationally angry, I couldn’t help it.
“AUDREY!” I bellowed when I walked in the front door.
“Mmm?” She replied from the kitchen she was baking cookies.
“I saw something interesting today.” I said.
“And that was?” She replied licking spoon from the left over dough.
“A photo of you and Katie Santsee.” I answered showing her.
“O-M-G that made it into A GOSSIP SITE?” She screamed excitedly.
“Yes, why are you hanging out with her?” I asked.
“I’m not hanging out with her Paris, I ran into her on a night out, she was pretty cool. I know you guys have had issues but I’m steering clear of it.” She replied.
“‘Had issues’? Audrey the woman spat on me and accused me of fucking her boyfriend while I was at work.” I said keeping my voice relatively calm.
“Well you kind of did, didn’t you?” She asked.
“NO Audrey what the hell? You know I would never do that!” I retorted harshly.
“Paris they may not have been together, together but everyone thought they were.” She replied.
“How dare you? You’re supposed to be my friend, as in if somebody spits on me and makes a scene you’re automatically supposed to be on my side.” I almost screamed.
“Come on Paris, aren’t we a little bit old to have sides, and to be honest I like Katie she was fun and not high maintenance unlike some of my other friends.” She yelled, and it was implied that I was the high maintenance friend.
“Really Audrey I’m high maintenance? Do whatever you like; I’m done with your bullshit.” I screamed.
“Well if you’re done with my bullshit, you can get out of MY apartment.” She screamed back.
I was left open mouthed; she had just kicked me out. We had had fought before but it was never like this, she had NEVER threatened to kick me out, I walked calmly to my room, sent a message to Zoe asking if I could stay at her place tonight and packed my bag, she sent back no worries. I managed to pack all my bags and a lot of little things that surrounded my room. I was moving on auto pilot all I could think about was getting out of this toxic apartment.
Seriously I was just confused I don’t know what’s going on with Audrey lately, frankly she’s a jealous cow and I’m completely over not knowing what mood she’s going to be in when I get home at night.
I walked out of my room and she was sitting on the couch eating some freshly baked cookies and watching TV, we didn’t speak as I walked out of the apartment.
I don’t think this particular situation was a friendship ending thing between Audrey and I but we’d both been waiting for anything to create some distance between us and finally there was something. Sigh.

How Could I be So Naive?
*Thanks for the lovely birthday messagages! :D Also 24 followers!!!!!! YAY
Work was interesting today, after taking Friday off I had lots to catch up on, so I got to work very, very early.
“Good morning Paris, you here very early.” Minnie said as she walked in to her office and dumped the hundreds of pieces of paper she had, and walked back out to chat to me.
“I thought I should be after taking Friday off.” I smiled.
“Oh yes, and how is your gorgeous new nephew?” She asked.
“His beautiful, seriously I’m in love with him.” I said.
“I would love to see some pictures soon.” She winked as she walked into her office. I had heaps of photos of him, but Grace and Simon had yet to choose a name, she was leaving the hospital today so they had to come with something, I think they might name him Harrison, which I love! Oh well guess we’ll soon find out.
The rest of the morning I was very productive, Brett and I made awkward small talk while he was waiting for a meeting with Minnie. We hadn’t really spoken since the night he stayed late and I think he knew that Nathan wasn’t exactly comfortable with us being friends, I know that I told Nathan I would still be friends with Brett but it didn’t really feel right, not after our fight which we still haven’t really talked about. Zoe came in about an hour late looking terrible, she had a hangover and looked like she was about to vomit.
“Zoe what’s going on?” I asked her when we were out to lunch.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“Well you have a hangover and it’s a Monday, how are you dealing with your breakup?” I asked.
Zoe sighed before speaking, “I saw him yesterday...hence the massive Monday morning hangover.”
“I knew it, Zoe. Where did you see him?” I asked.
“At my apartment...” She sighed.
“Did you have break up sex?” I asked my tone light but I knew the answer I would get.
“Yes, not just once either...” She whined. “I don’t know what I’m doing Paris, I break up him and he calls me and then we have sex, seriously it’s like where in the exact same position we were before we broke up its just there is no commitment.”
“Zoe you have to work out what you want from him.” I said.
“I know, I know it’s not a smart idea to keep going the way we are.” She said miserably.
Suddenly we became aware of a dark shadow standing at the end of the table, it was Brett.
“Hey Brett.” I said attempting to be friendly.
“Hey Paris, Zoe.” He smiled.
“Sorry to interrupt your lunch but can I have a chat to you Paris?” He asked carefully.
I hesitated but Zoe interrupted, “I have to go back to work anyway, I’ll see you both there.”
Brett sat down filling Zoe’s place.
“So what have you been up to?” I asked.
“Paris, why have you been avoiding me?” He asked directly.
“...I haven’t. Ok that’s a lie, I have. I am going to be completely honest with you, Nathan wasn’t exactly impressed with our behaviour at the dinner party, so I thought best to give us some space.”
“I knew he wouldn’t like me after that night...” Brett said a little mysteriously.
“Why?” I asked.
“Well we were flirting like mad, look Paris anyone can see there is something between us.” He said looking at me directly in the eyes.
“Brett, no. Let me make this perfectly clear, I love Nathan, he is the only person I want to be with, I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong idea it wasn’t my intention at all.
“I think you need to open your eyes Paris, I can’t see you and Nathan lasting much longer, don’t you realise what a fantasy this is? Dating a famous football player, who you have described sweet and funny and gets along with your friends, his playing you Paris and you’re just too infatuated to see it. Soon you’ll see, and hopefully you haven’t left it to long for us to be something.” He said with confidence that made me want to slap his across the head and throw my drink on him.
“You don’t know the first thing about Nathan, and honestly even if we need break up, there is no chance of you and I being anything more than colleagues, I would appreciate if we didn’t speak unless work related.” I said as I snatched my hand bag from the chair next to me and walked out without a second glance at Brett.
I knew Brett’s type, hell I’d written articles about Brett’s type. He was the kind of guy that thought of every girl as a challenge, and if he hadn’t hooked up with her he’d lost the game. He was the guy that went after girls with boyfriends to make his life a little more interesting, I just wish I had figured it out sooner...

Decisions, Decisions
*Hey everybody I cant say I'm sorry enough, I forgot to schedule this post, and I was at a friends house. I didn't want anyone else to because none of my family or friends know about the blog! Sorry, sorry!!! There will probably be a bonus post this week, to make up for my slackness! Thanks heaps for being patient with me! Also sorry for the length of this post, its going to take me a while to get back into the swing of things! :D
I didn’t tell Nate about the offer, I don’t know why, I guess I’m considering it but I’m not sure how it will affect us yet so I have decided not to mention it until I know. Paris is my dream, it always has been my career focus but things change I suppose and my life has definitely changed in the last couple of months. Zoe and I decided we needed some serious girl time; our plan was to go shopping after work and then grab dinner.
“So what are you going to wear to your wag barbeque?” Zoe asked.
“I don’t know...Stop saying ‘wag barbeque’ it’s freaking me out.” I replied.
“Sorry...but come on sweetheart, you’re extremely close to being wag status.”
I let out a mock cry and Zoe patted me on the back.
“So did the sexy football player explain himself for not calling?” Zoe asked.
“No, I mean we barely talked about it, I know we have to but where not exactly the world’s best communicators.” I sighed.
“You guys should talk...You’re so good together but not communicating properly is the downfall of most relationships.” Zoe said.
I laughed at her wisdom, she just shrugged her shoulders and said, “I did a psych minor at uni.”
“I know you’re right, oooooo do you want to hear something interesting?” I asked changing the subject.
“I do.” She answered while lazily flicking through the clothes on the sales rack.
“Guess who was offered a three month internship in Paris?”
“NO really?” She squealed.
“Yep!”
“Oh how very hills season 1.” She joked, “Except there’s no chance you wouldn’t actually go.”
I looked down avoiding her gaze...
“YOU CAN’T SAY NO TO PARIS!” She yelled.
“I’m not saying no, I’m just thinking about it.” I explained.
“Ok I have to call you P during this conversation cause its getting way to
confusing, P you can’t say no to Paris, you know what they say When Paris sneezes,
Europe catches cold, and it’s not just Europe it’s the whole fashion world P, if you want a career in this industry you cannot say no.” She said forcefully but kindly.
“I know Zo, I completely agree and that’s what I keep telling myself...we both know three months in Paris really mean six months or longer...” I justified.
“Look I love Nate you know that but you have your entire life to be with him, Paris is a once a lifetime opportunity, Nathan will wait and you know he will.”
To be honest I’m not sure what I’m going to do anymore...

Everything is Better In the Daylight
“I feel like someone just vomited in my mouth...” Zoe said while we were walking to work the day after Katie’s photo shoot and our excessive drinking fest.
I couldn’t help but laugh, “You are disgusting. Everyone’s gonna stare at us, you look like you haven’t slept in a week and I got spat on by the ‘talent’ yesterday.”
“Speak for yourself I look amazing.” Zoe joked, the irony obvious we both looked like death hit by a car and then run over.
We walked in to the office from major stares, Zoe and I parted ways and I sat down at my desk. Almost immediately I was called into Minnie’s office, “Paris, please come in here.”
I walked in and shut the door behind me; I had been practicing my apology all morning and was hoping it was going to be enough.
“Minnie before you say anything, I am so sorry. I honestly didn’t think she would recognise me, and I didn’t think she would get that angry, I take complete responsibility.” I said.
“Paris please, we all saw what went on yesterday. To be honest I don’t really care about your personal life, but I did want to check your ok?” She said sincerely.
“Uh, yeah I’m fine...”I said cautiously.
“Paris, I’m not your mother but I care about you and your career, you are one of the most promising young journalists I have ever met. I don’t want your personal life to effect how successful you’re going to be. So when you walk out of the office you’re going to look like I punished you and made you feel even worse, I can’t have people thinking I have favouritism towards you Paris, but I have great plans for you, if you give me your loyalty I will do everything I can for you.” Minnie said.
“Minnie, you don’t realise how much that means to me. I will do anything.” I said.
She simply nodded at me; I took that as my cue to leave.
I worked hard all day, about 3.30 I got an email from Zoe.
Subject: Oh shat...
Body:
You’re a celebrity? This was pulled from Australian ‘OK’ website!
“No, no, no our (least) favourite model turned T.V host apparently caused ALOT of problems at her Radiance interview early yesterday, but where would we all be without some Katie Santsee drama? Little Katie apparently flipped at the editors assistants, the one who is currently dating Nathan Luken, Katie’s ex. Confused yet? So are we. Katie said to actually spit on the young woman (gross); the young hottie has been identified as Paris Lorre, who was apparently told to leave the set...dayum! Although how can we really blame Katie? If a guy as hot as Nathan dumped me, I’d be bitter too!”
At least you were described as a hottie?

Great. Oh and I still haven’t heard from Nathan...
So are we. Dinner Party
So I managed to get everyone to come, even though it was late notice. I decided to make this yummy Greek salad for starter, spaghetti with some crusty garlic bread for main and mud cake served with ice cream for dessert. YUM.... Nathan agreed to come over early and help me cook.
“So babe, who’s coming tonight?” Nate asked when I came out from the bathroom fixing my makeup.
“Uh ok, you, me, Audrey, Zoe and Mark her boyfriend, Brett, Georgie...That’s it.” I said excitedly.
“Oh ok cool...I have training tomorrow so I might need to duck out a little early.” He said.
“Training on a Saturday? Well that sucks, you could just stay with me tonight if you want?” I said kissing him slowly; while he was running his hands over my back.
“Hmmm maybe I will, if you promise to kiss me like that again.”He said, I pulled him closer to me in response.
“Well we better stop kissing like that, or I won’t be a very good host, now will I.” I said attempting to pull away.
“You’ll be a good host to me.” He said smiling.

We were all sitting around the dining room table; everybody was getting along really well. Even Mark and Zoe were getting along great, which was a surprise after our little chat the other day. Although I realised about half way through the dinner Georgie and Brett would be better off just as friends, I also noticed that Nathan and Brett were pretty similar, so she probably saw him as more of a brother figure.
About 10.30 Nathan whispered in my ear, “Babe, I’m going to bed. Sorry to be lame, I have to get up early tomorrow.”
“No worries, wake me up before you go tomorrow?” I asked.
“Of course I will.” He gave me a quick kiss.
“Sorry to be a party pooper guys, but I’m going to head off to bed. I have practice early in the morning...”He said to a bunch of groans.
“I think we better go too.” Zoe said Mark nodded in agreement.
“Hmm me too...I’m so tired.” Georgie yawned.
They all offered to help clean up, but I was happy to do it. The mess is a sign of a successful dinner party. Audrey went to bed after everybody left so it was just Brett and I.
Brett insisted on helping me clean up, it didn’t take long so we decided to go sit in the lounge room and have another drink.
“So you had a good night?” I asked.
“I did, your right everybody is really cool. Seriously thanks Paris for introducing me too people and showing me around and everything. I really appreciate it.” Brett said genuinely.
“No problem Brett. I think you’re a cool guy, and plus if I didn’t you would have been stuck with Hally.” I said laughing.
“Did I tell you she asked me out for drinks...”He said. Brett also realised what a toxic person Hally was, he had seen her around the office and how she treated everyone.
“Really? Hmm I’m not surprised.” I laughed.
We chatted easily and before I knew it the clock read 1am, I had to be up earlier than normal for a Saturday because Georgie and I had decided to go to Bondi for lunch and a bit of shopping.
“Ha it’s already 1.” I said yawning hoping Brett would get the hint that it was time to go.
“It is too, I better go. You need your beauty rest.” He smiled.
We got up and I gave him a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek, he stared at me for a second to long before I shut the door. I’m really hoping I didn’t give him the wrong idea about tonight.
Instead of over thinking things I just snuggled in bed with Nate, I woke up to him giving me a kiss as he was rushing out for training, I instantly got a stabbing feeling of guilty and I couldn’t understand why.

So Much Testosterone
Work has been super duper busy the last couple of days, we got an updated list of Katie’s demands, like special brands of water that she can drink and a certain fruit, from a particular fruit shop she can eat. So it’s needless to say I have been crazy busy, poor Nate told me he had been feeling a little rejected, so I suggested he pick my after work.
Anyway Brett was fitting in perfectly, he picked up his job easily and was getting along with everyone, Zoe, Brent and I went to lunch almost every day of the week together.
Nate called me about 6.15pm to let me know he was downstairs; Brent was leaving at the same time so we walked out together.
“So what are you doing tonight?” I asked while we were waiting for the elevator.
“Not much, going home...” He said.
I felt bad for him, but I promised Nathan that we would have a night together just us, otherwise I would have asked him to come to dinner.
“Oh no that sucks, I’m sorry. Did you want to come over for dinner on Saturday; we can invite Zoe and her boyfriend and Nate and my roommate...” I asked.
“Uhh, your roommate doesn’t have a boyfriend does she? I can’t handle all couples.” he laughed.
“Nope! And I’ll invite Nate’s sister...you’ll like her heaps.” I said excitedly, I hadn’t had a dinner party in ages, it was a good excuse to get everyone together, and also to see if Brett and Georgie would hit it off, they’d be cute together I reckon.
The doors open and Nate was waiting for me, looking all handsome and clean shaven.
“Hey babe, this is Brett, the new accountant I was telling you about.”I said giving him a quick kiss.
“Hey mate.”Nate said.
“Hey man, heard lots about you.”Brett said.
There was so much testosterone in the room, it got kind of awkward.
“Uh ok, so I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said giving Brett a quick hug

“Ok, so where are you taking me?” I asked Nathan, when we were alone.
“I thought we could just walk around and choose somewhere, sound ok?” He asked.
“Awesome, how was practise today?” I asked wrapping my arm around his waist as we walked.
“Ok, getting easier. So what’s the deal with Brett?” He asked making a face.
“What’s that face for? His really cool Nate.” I said laughing.
“I’m sure he is, you guys have become fast friends.” He said.
I stopped him on the street before speaking, “Don’t be jealous babe. Brett’s just a friend, and you’re definitely more than a friend, I promise.”
He smiled a stupidly big grin and kissed the top of my nose, “I’m not jealous...Ok a little jealous.”
Suddenly I hear a high pitched scream, and two young teenage girls about 16 run over to us.
“OMIGOD! YOU’RE NATHAN LUKEN!” Screamed the first girl.
“O-M-G I TOTALLY LOVE YOU!” Screamed the second girl.
I gave Nathan a look, as if to say ‘now I’m a little jealous,’ he laughed and stuck his tongue out at me, before taking photos with the two giggling girls.
Nathan and I went home that night and showed each other how not jealous we both were...over and over again. ;)

Tales of Woe
I got home at 4.30pm, Zoe picked me up and we decided to go for coffee.
“So how was the weekend?” Zoe asked excitedly, while waiting for our cappuccinos.
I don’t know why but tears suddenly streamed down my face. I hadn’t had that bad of a time, it was just...I don’t know, It just didn’t go the way I had hoped.
“Paris, what’s wrong? What happened?” She asked concern painting her face.
So I told her the long tale of my weekend and the tears eventually dried up.
“Oh sweetie that horrible, I’m so sorry. At least the rest of the family was cool.”
“I know, and I don’t want to make it out like it was all bad, because it wasn’t. Actually something pretty amazing happened...Nathan said I LOVE YOU!” I beamed.
“NO, Oh gosh that’s awesome! Oh you guys are so cute together! Did you say it back?” Zoe said genuinely excited for me. At my nod she let out a high pitched squeal.
Just then my mobile rang, “Sorry its Nate, I have to get it. I forgot to call him!” I said.
“Hey Nate.” My voice cracked a little from all the crying I had done earlier.
“Hey you ok?” He asked.
“Yeah I am fine. Zoe picked me up and we are just grabbing coffee.” I said trying to sound happy.
He didn’t seem to convinced, “Oh ok, I was just calling to make sure you got in ok. But I will just chat to you later I guess.”
“Hey wait, are you ok?”
“Yep...”He answered.
“Ok well call me tonight before you go to sleep ok?” I asked.
“Alright well I’ll talk to you then.” He said hanging up.
I got off the phone and Zoe and I chatted easily. I was just getting out of the car, when Zoe stopped me.
“Hey Paris, do you think it’s weird Mark and I haven’t exchanged I love you’s yet?”
“No, everyone moves at a different pace Zoe. I’m sure his nearly there.” I said. She smiled seemingly satisfied at my answer, and I asked her to call me tomorrow.
Oh and Nathan didn’t call me that night, I tried calling him but he didn’t answer. I couldn’t help it worry flooded through me.

The DRESS
With the wedding less than a week away, me and Zoe went shopping AGAIN to try to find a dress.
“I am not going to find anything! I might as well just go naked Zoe!” I said desperately.
“I’m sure that will make a great impression on his mum.” She said laughing.
“Oh God Zo, that’s another thing. He said that his mum ‘isn’t nice’.” I said with finger quotes.
“Really? Shit you’re in trouble!”
“You think? Argh, mums usually like me!” I said frowning.
“Well, I have never known anyone to say their own mother isn’t nice. Unless there is bad blood there.”
“I’m scared Zoe. I really like him; I want his family to like me...”
“Sweetie they will. I mean you’re beautiful, smart, have a good job; you’re not after Nathan for his money or his fame.”
“Oh that was so sweet! So what about you and Mark?”
“Mark is good, his pretty busy with work at the moment though.” She said, sounding a little disappointed.
“Oh no, when are you guys seeing each other again?”
“Tonight, I hope he doesn’t cancel. His been really stressed.”
“He won’t Zo, you guys are good together. Mark is awesome for you.”
“I know, argh! Come on look at this dress.” She said picking up this beautiful, above the knee dress.
I tried it on and I immediately knew this was THE DRESS. It was a shapeless deep blue dress, I wasn’t sure if it could be too casual but I knew I could dress it up with jewellery. Then I found the perfect pair of shoes, they were black high heel lace-ups.
I walked out of my room to show Zoe the final product.
“Oh my God, you look beautiful. Seriously Nathan is going to die when he sees you in that dress.”
“Really, are you sure it’s wedding appropriate?” I asked worried, I had to make a good impression.
“It is honestly, you look soooo hot...” She said, giving me a suggestive wink and laughing.
“Ok, well if his family hates me, I’m blaming you.” I said while shutting my bedroom door to get changed.
“I am not going to find anything! I might as well just go naked Zoe!” I said desperately.

Shopping
I practically dragged Audrey shopping with me today; it had been a couple of days since Nate asked me to the wedding and I needed to start looking for a dress for the wedding and a couple of nice outfits for the weekend. So we headed to down to the Australian version of Rodeo Drive, George Street and got shopping. It was pretty successful, I got a new pair of skinny jeans and a really nice jacket...I didn’t find the dress but Audrey agreed to come again and help me find the perfect dress.
We decided to eat in the city, this really nice pizza place the slices were massive but we were hungry.
“So I have been pretty absent lately, what’s been going on?” I asked, my mouth full of delicious cheese pizza.
“Not much really, just busy with work.”
“Oh, so know new boys on the scene?” I asked smiling at her, of course there was a boy, Audrey always had a new boy.
“Nope, riding solo. I don’t really mind, I always have guys on the brain. It’s awesome focusing on work for once.” She said, seeming genuinely happy.
“Well I’m proud of you.” I said truthfully.
“Soo what about you and Nathan? It looks like things are heating up! Meeting his family already?”
“Yeah I know, but he is seriously a great guy. His really genuine and funny and sweet. Just really awesome to hang out with. We’re having lots of fun.” I said.
“I know your having lots of fun...I fricken heard you guys last night, it sounded like you were having fun OVER and OVER again!” She laughed.
I went a deep shade of red, “OMG I thought you were out? I’m so sorry!”
“I was out, I came home...Don’t worry this is your free pass!” She said winking at me.
“Aw God, how embarrassing. Change of subject, please! So work is good?” I asked, slowly coming out of my embarrassment.
She laughed, “Work is really good, I have never been sooo busy, but its worth it...I love it, and they pretty much put me in charge of the website....I mean I’m not getting promoted as fast as you, but hey I’m working hard.” She said a little bitterly.
“Yeah, well remember I interned at Radiance for ages, that’s why I got promoted so fast. But you sound like your enjoying it which is the most important thing.”
“I am enjoying it a lot. Anyway speaking of work, I have to go...I gotta catch up on something’s...Are you coming to or...?”
“I think I’ll keep shopping for a while...See if I can find anything else! But thanks for coming today...” I said cautiously, our conversation had gotten a little awkward and I didn’t want to push her buttons.
“Hey Zoe, I’m on George Street did you want to meet go shopping maybe?” I knew Zoe couldn’t resist shopping.
“Oh what you have surgically removed that very sexy football star from your hip have you?” She laughed.
“Ha, your one to talk...”
“Hmph your right...I’ll be there in like half an hour?” She giggled.
“Ill see you then!” I smiled; Zoe was so easy to be around. I was glad to have a friend like her.

Awkwardness and Opportunities
Nathan and I went out for breakfast the next morning; it was a little awkward...Which is weird for us, we have never really had any uncomfortable silences before, it was definitely the sex issue!
“Ok, so this is weird right? Like awkward weird?” I asked.
“Yeah, a little.” He laughed.
“I am sorry about last night, I didn’t mean for it to be like such a big issue, but it suddenly is.”
“Don’t apologise. Please I...I just don’t want you to regret anything that happens, and you said you weren’t ready, and last night it felt like you were ready but I didn’t want to do anything in case it was just the alcohol, not that you were drunk or stupid-.” He was talking very fast, he looked so nervous and cute.
I cut him off, “It wasn’t the alcohol. I am ready and I have been for ages, I still felt a little weird about all the drama when I said I wasn’t ready...” I smiled.
“I was hoping you would say that.” He smiled.
Awkward silence
“Ok we are NOT planning it though, cause that’s just stupid...Will just let it happen, deal?” I asked.
“Deal.” Nathan smiled.
“Alright well I have to go to; I can’t be late to work.” I got up and kissed him on the cheek, he pulled me back and kissed me again, he is so sweet.

About 12.30 I got called into Minnie’s office, with Zoe. I knew something fishy was going on when I walked in, they were both quiet but excitement filled the air.
“Paris, sit down will you? I called you in here today because I have an offer for you. Yasmine is leaving, she is pregnant. So Zoe is going to move into her position as features editor and I am asking you to move up to the beauty department. Of course being so new, Zoe has agreed to help you for the first three months. And if we don’t think you’re ready to go alone, we will bring someone in from the outside to do the job.” Minnie finished and my mouth was set wide open!
“Are you serious? I haven’t even been working here two months yet! Thank you so much for this opportunity.”
“You know I have always liked you Paris, not many others would have an opportunity like this.” Minnie smiled.
“I know thank you so much! I promise you can count on me!” I was virtually floating on air, I didn’t expect to be give a chance like this is soon!
Zoe and I calmly left the office, and then did a silent happy dance outside Minnie’s door; we heard her chuckle softly before saying “Back to work ladies!”

Tonight?
When I got to Nate’s just after nine I was more than buzzed, definitely bordering drunk. Well if tonight’s the night then at least ill have confidence I guess!
“Hey Nate.” I said when he opened the door, judging by his amused expression I knew he could see I had, had a couple of drinks.
“Hey, you look beautiful.” He said sweetly.
“Thank you, you don’t look so bad yourself.” I said while wrapping my arms around his waist. He smiled, and looked at my curiously.
“We have quite a routine going on here...”I joked.
“We do, hope you’re not getting sick of me yet.” He laughed.
“Never.” I smiled.
“So had a couple of drinks with Zoe hey?” He said with a little smile as he noticed me swaying.
“Hmmm maybe...Ok yes.” I said with a cheeky smile and he laughed.
“Well has anyone told you, you look gorgeous after a couple of drinks?”
“Well the guy I hooked up with in the restaurant bathroom seemed to think so...”
Nathans face was painted with panic for a second, before he realised I was obviously joking and he visibly relaxed.
“haha your very funny...” his voice thick with sarcasm.
“Oh Nate come here I was just kidding,” I said while hugging him.
Then we started making out, exactly like the first night when I stayed over. This time though there was more of an urgency that I hadn’t felt since the night Nate and I were going to have sex. Slowly clothes were being peeled off and I silently cursed myself for drinking tonight, I didn’t want to be a drunken slob for our first night.
Again Nathan pulled away...
“You have no idea how much I want to do this, like no idea. But I just can’t...You have been drinking, and I don’t want you to wake up tomorrow and regret it.” He said slightly out of breath and his cheeks blushing.
“Ok seriously I really want to do I won’t regret it I promise! I haven’t had that much to drink and I don’t know if I can wait any longer. The build up is too much!” I sounded desperate but I didn’t care, I wanted him more then I have wanted anyone.
“I’m sorry Paris, I can’t...I wish I could but I can’t!”Desperation reeked from his voice to.
“Hmph fine well let’s just watch the movie then.” I said with mock-annoyance as I snuggled close to him. Honestly I was glad. I didn’t want to waste our first time. This boy is special, I mean how many football players would say no to a girl because she had, had too much to drink? Nathan is special!

Dinner?
I told Audrey all about my Nate drama; she listened like a friend and promised that she wouldn’t write a story about it until the news broke officially (then it was fair game) and she wouldn’t mention anything about the fake relationship or that Nathan and I technically started dating before the ‘announcement’.
“Hey Paris you really like him don’t you?”
“Yeah I think that I do” I smiled
On Monday I was waiting for a phone call from him, I knew that he would probably wait until I finished work but I kept checking my phone and nothing. I couldn’t concentrate on work at all; Zoe noticed and decided to take me to lunch to get my mind off Nathan.
“How’s Halley going?” I asked knowing the answer.
“Horrible, seriously Paris I honestly don’t know what to do with her. I don’t really want to talk to Minnie I don’t think I could ever get anyone fired...”
“You know I am not the biggest fan of Hally, but she isn’t doing her job properly, Minnie got you an assistant to ease your work load not to make it bigger...”
“I know I am going to have a chat with her when we get back and give her a chance.”
“Great, well at least you have a plan.”
We spent the rest of lunch chatting about everything, work and the new celebrity interview we are trying to get and my mum and Ray who are leaving for Europe today, and her parents (she doesn’t get along to well with them, they hated that she went into journalism, they wanted her to be a lawyer), her brother and her sisters (all who she is very close with).
We got back to the office about an hour later, but Minnie told me to just go home. She said I had worked really hard the last few weeks and deserved an afternoon off that would have been awesome if Nathan had called me...
I went to the gym, brought some groceries, I cleaned the apartment, cooked dinner, and cleaned out my wardrobe all before 5pm. At exactly 5 Nathans name lit up my caller id.
“Hey Nate.” I tried sounding cool but I sounded so excited which is how I felt.
“Hey, I thought you’d still be at work I was going to leave a voicemail.” He sound sounding suprised.
“No, I actually got the afternoon off!”
“Oh really? You should have called me we could have gone out.” He sounded a little disappointed.
“Well if I called you it would have looked a little desperate!” I laughed.
“I was trying to play it cool too, I have been awake since 7am just waiting for 5 o’clock,” he said laughing.
“Well that’s a bit cute.” I said smiling.
“So did you want to go dinner tonight?”
“Well you know a lady isn’t supposed to accept a date so late...” I said coyly.
“But that’s why I like you, you’re not afraid to break the rules.”
“Ok fine, just this once.”
“Well how about I cook you dinner at my place? I’ll text you the address is 7 ok?”
“7 sounds perfect!”
“Hey Paris you really like him don’t you?”

Uncool Zoe, Uncool
*This was going to be two posts but I made it one, to keep my promise to Sweetcanadian!!!
The date was, well it was terrible...
I got there and immediately Zoe mouthed “I am so sorry.” I soon realised what she was sorry for and his name was Dave.
The date started nice enough, he complemented me on my outfit (jeans, boots and a faux brown leather jacket) and asked me about my job, my family everything. When the food came is where things started going downhill.
“So fashion magazines hey? Don’t you feel a little selfish, parading these high price items when most of the world can’t even afford it?” Dave asked rudely.
“Have you ever read Radiance? Because if you did, you would see we have different sections for all budgets” I retorted.
“Well that’s not really the point; I mean what about all those people who can’t even afford basic necessities?”
“Ok, and what exactly do you do?”
“I am an accountant...”
“Ah yes, saving the world one rich bastard at a time...” I was getting defensive
We had more back and forth and like that for while, until it was time for the movie. Zoe and Mark were looking extremely uncomfortable.
OMG ECLIPSE WAS AWESOME, it almost made me forget about the horrible company. One the plus side though Zoe and Mark get on amazingly, he is so sweet to her and you can tell he really cares about her.
I got in the cab with Zoe and Mark, I insisted on them taking me home because Dave asked if I would like to go home with him, I promptly said no and that I had a very important appointment in the morning that I couldn’t miss (seeing as tomorrow is a Saturday I suspect he thought something fishy was up).
“Mark, what the hell? Does he seem like the kind of guy I would go out with?” I was asking him while laughing remembering the horrible night.
“Zoe gave me no notice so I just picked a guy from work... I am sorry it was a horrible night wasn’t it?” Mark said.
“Not so bad for me,” Zoe said while cuddling up to him. Mark smiled at her.
Awwww
I got home at like 11pm and wondered if it was too late to call him...
“Hey it’s me, Paris”...
“Hey Paris, I wasn’t expecting to hear from you,” Nathan sounded distracted.
“Sorry, it this a bad time?”
“No, no what have you been up to?” he still sounded strange.
“I was just on the horrible date, and I wanted to talk to someone who doesn’t want to make me scream,” oh shit, I just told him about my date.
“Oh, you went on a date?” His said it as more of accusation
“Yeah, Zoe set me up...”
Awkward silence
“Oh ok, so it wasn’t fun?” he obviously wasn’t really listening to me. I definitely shouldn’t have mentioned it, this conversation was worse than the date.
“I am going to go, you sound busy,”
“Paris wait I am sorry I am just distracted, I will call you soon,”
I am so stupid; I really need to figure out what I want from Nathan. I obviously only told him that to make him jealous and now I am regretting it.
Five minutes late my phone rang, blasting Katy Perry California Gurls.
“Hey Paris, I am sorry I was such a dick, Uhh tell me about your terrible date...”
“You weren’t a dick, I am sorry I shouldn’t have done that, I just wanted to someone to talk to about it but you are not the right person for that.”
“No come on, I have to know what my competition is doing wrong.” he laughed.
“He wasn’t competition...” my face immediately went a deep red I could feel it, thank god we were on the phone.
“Oh really?” I could just hear him smirking.
“Shut up, I meant we just didn’t have as much fun as you and I have together.
”
We talked for ages after that, he talked about his family, and football, the fans he has to deal with. I talked more about my family, and friends, and stories from when I travelled Europe.
“Hey we’ve been talking for nearly 2 hours; you better rest that pretty little head of yours” I joked.
“We have too, I haven’t talked on the phone this long since I was at school,” he was laughing and I suddenly felt like I had to ask him something.
“Nate, have you talked to Katie yet?”
He let out a big breath, “I have, but she wants to meet me before we tell the media and everything, she wants to make a big deal out of the announcement, I told her people probably don’t care that much but again she wants her publicity. I think I am meeting her on Sunday for lunch.”
“Ok, well I better go but tonight was nice, I mean chatting to you was nice...”
“Yeah it was.”
“Hey Nate, call me on Monday ok...” I may have sounded a little desperate but I didn’t care
He let out a soft laugh, “Yeah I’ll call you Monday.”
